Mrs. Molesworth was an English writer who claimed morals as the aim of her words. This is true of this story. Two brothers come to understand that no bad fairy causes havoc in a home, but perhaps missing items could be the result of boys who have yet to learn the value of cleaning up what they have messed up - and the good fairy was someone they knew.
