Film director Wes Anderson and producer Robert Evans on this edition of Fresh Air. Wes Anderson co-wrote and produced the critically-acclaimed and popular film The Royal Tenenbaums, which has just been released on video and DVD. The film stars Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Billy Murray, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Stiller. Anderson also co-wrote and directed Bottle Rocket and Rushmore. Legendary producer Robert Evans ran Paramount Studios from 1966-1974 and brought to the screen the films: The Odd Couple, Love Story, Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby, Harold and Maude, and The Godfather. He was discovered poolside in 1956 when his good looks and charm captured the eye of screen legend Norma Shearer. She offered him a film role, and he acted for a few years before taking up producing. He published his memoir, The Kid Stays in the Picture, in 1994. There's now a new documentary based on his memoir now being released to theatres.
